Game code savage lands

Somewhere in the ballpark of around 20 hours I think. The game ran ok and I never experienced any major bugs. Then, one day there was an update and it made the game completely unplayable for me. First, I loaded up the game, and quickly realized that all of my chests had sunk into the ground and I couldn't access them. And the houses that I had built had been reverted back into their ruined state, like they were prior to me rebuilding them during the "tutorial" or beginning of the game.

And if that wasn't all bad enough, the dragon that had previously always just sat on top of this tower in the distance, now suddenly would fly from his perch as soon as I loaded into the game and he would come kill me. It was obviously, I'm assuming at least, not intended.

But it made the game impossible to play. A few weeks later I decided to boot up the game again, and the dragon was no longer coming and killing me as soon as the game started. I'm not sure if there was a hotfix for it or what. It was very odd though. At some point there was another patch and it made the game unplayable for me. This time, though, it wasn't because of a bug or a gameplay issue. It was because the game's performance was absolutely terrible. I suddenly had frames in the single digits.
