To make the process of working and training at Montefiore-Einstein more seamless, we offer a variety of services for our house staff, physician assistants and interns, including assistance with credentialing and orientation, institutional resources, visas, contracts, HR documents, payroll, notary services and specialty training and certifications. Montefiore-Einstein Radiology truly provides residents an outstanding foundation on which to build a career as a radiologist, creating a positive learning environment that is both collegial and fun. Moses Campus is the primary teaching site for our training programs. Our sub-specialty reading rooms serve as a hub for active clinical care and teaching, and support tertiary-level referral programs throughout the entire breadth of adult and pediatric medicine. In addition to specialized reading rooms, residents have full access to our resident library and a newly renovated resident lounge, and are invited to take advantage of our 3D imaging lab.
Resident conferences are presented in-person from Binswanger Auditorium, although we electronically simulcast lectures and conferences from Moses to all our clinical sites. Resident learning is enhanced through participation in a range of interdisciplinary tumor boards and research programs. The breadth of clinical cases, dedication to teaching diagnostic and procedural skills, research opportunities, and supportive faculty make Montefiore-Einstein an incredible radiology residency program, which primed me to succeed in fellowship and beyond.
While on-site at Jack D. Weiler Hospital, Montefiore-Einstein Radiology Fellows experience hands-on training in an academic community hospital setting. Weiler is also home to the Albert Einstein Cancer Center, which provides extensive case material for clinical cases and highlights multiple interdisciplinary conferences. Fellows work directly with faculty on the Interventional Radiology IR service and take independent calls as senior residents from Einstein, enhancing their learning and independent clinical practice.
Hutchinson Campus features a full-service outpatient radiology department that supports an story outpatient medical facility and surgical center. Fellows support outpatient care in orthopedics and pain management during rotations in orthopedics and sports medicine, and gain hands-on experience in both procedures and clinical management in a patient-centered environment at the Montefiore Breast Center. The strengths of our Radiology Residencies include extensive learning time, a thorough curriculum and a focus on feedback, all provided in a resident-centered environment.
We dedicate over two and a half hours per day to protected learning time, offering a mix of case-based and didactic instruction. A blend of in-person and remote teaching allows residents at all sites to learn from faculty and guest lecturers in all specialty areas. Our lecture series features an extensive and transparent teaching curriculum that is updated continuously. Special lecture series on imaging physics, research methodology, quality improvement and healthcare economics help round out a training program designed to train our radiologists to become expert physicians and future leaders.
Feedback is the cornerstone of our educational program. Residents receive one-on-one feedback from individual faculty members, end-of-rotation summaries and semiannual assessments, which incorporate all aspects of resident performance and engagement.
The systems common, simultaneous file access allows easy collaboration between specialists making PACS an integrated part of full patient care at Einstein. The facility also offers services to outpatients. While training at Moses, residents partake in a particularly rigorous program in oncologic and non-oncologic pediatric and adult nuclear medicine. Our Transplant Center, also on-site, affords residents the ability to evaluate organ physiology pre- and post-transplant.
